2018 Ford F-150 Arrives in Detroit With Fresh Goodies

Not long after Ford brought the current aluminum-bodied F-150 pickup to market, we started seeing a test mule for the 2018 version traversing the streets of Dearborn. It was said it was the 2018 model, which would add a new grille and an all-new diesel engine to the lineup. As fate would have it, the F-150’s 2018 refresh would be a bit more extensive.

Unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show today, Ford is showing that more has gone into this refresh than meets the eye. Virtually every engine has gotten new mechanicals, with an all-new 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 debuting. Existing engines have also gotten attention—a 3.3-liter EcoBoost V6 will replace the outgoing 3.5, and the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and V8 engines have all gotten upgrades for more power and better gas mileage.
